Don’t Panic!

Our first words of advice when dealing with mold are: Don’t Panic!

Few emotions can be as powerful as fear. When we fear for our safety, or health, or the unknown, we tend to make rash decisions that are not in our best interests. So stop, breathe, and think about your options. You can get through this. This is a problem that can be solved.

Research

The second thing you should do when dealing with mold is to conduct a little research. If you plan to clean up the mold yourself, you will want to research mold and methods of mold remediation. You will also want to research mold remediation companies if you plan to hire somebody.

Look in the footer at the bottom of the page for mold resources from the EPA, CDC, and others.

Do It Yourself

You want to take care of your own mold problem? We congratulate you for having that pioneering spirit! With some information and hard work, you can do many mold cleanup projects yourself.

We provide as much information and advice as we can on our website. You should also read A Guide to Mold, Moisture, and Your Home from the EPA. It is a common sense approach to cleaning up mold backed up by scientific research. If you still have questions after reading the guide, or if reading isn’t your thing; please call us. We don’t care that you’re not going to hire us; we want to help.

Hire a Mold Remediation Expert

Not willing or able to remove the mold yourself? That’s okay. There are many good, reputable mold remediation companies out there that can. You should do a little research to make sure you don’t end up on the wrong side of a bad deal. We put together a small Mold Remediation Buyer’s Guide that lists some of the things you should find out before hiring a contractor.
